Match Report: Ten-man Valencia CF lose away to Getafe CF (3-0)
Valencia CF travelled to the southern part of the Spanish capital to take on Getafe CF on Saturday the 27th of February at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez at 9 pm kick-off time (local time) on Matchday 25 of LaLiga Santander.
Valencia CF had an energetic start to the game trying to play a direct brand of football in the early goings of the game and defending doggedly at the back from Getafe CF‘s early waves of attacks who were harrying and hassling Valencia CF.
Valencia CF tried to shake off Getafe CF’styifling pressure over the midway point of the first half. The first chance fell to Kang In whose effort was blocked behind for a corner kick as the game became a foul fest over the half-hour mark.
Daniel Wass nodded it over the bar after getting on the end of A José Luis Gayà cross as the feisty encounter continued.
Manuel Aranbarri made it 1-0 to Getafe CF in the closing minutes of the first half. Valencia CF had a couple of deadball situations but it was the home side who were producing a lot in the way of danger.
Valencia CF trailed Getafe CF at the intermission by 1-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
Valencia CF were reduced to ten men as Mouctar Diakhaby was sent off for a straight red card for a bad foul on Nemanja Maksimovic and minutes later, things to a turn for the worse when Jaime Mata made it 2-0 to Getafe CF.
Javi Gracia brought on Hugo Guillamón who replaced Yunus Musah and late on Uroš Račić made way for Kevin Gameiro. Moments later, Gabrel Paulista had a red card rescinded for offside against Jaime Mata.
Carles Aleñá made it 3-0 in the closing stages and Valencia CF suffered a 3-0 loss at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
Valencia CF will welcome Villarreal CF on Friday night football at Mestalla on the 5th of March at 9 pm on matchday 26 of LaLiga Santander at Mestalla where they will look to bounce back in the regional derby.
